Changes
Changes, lessons, pain.
Open eyes,
we're in the same hole again.
Still, it's different.
Closed mind, moving illusion, Alters.
What is she that calls me
to a greener land?
Deceive me not, mine eyes.
For beauty lies within.
The siren's song entrances.
Heed them not, mine ears.
Their words be lies.
They'll bring you only tears.
Wishes granted,
distractions dancing about my soul.
No test of will,
just circumstance.
Externalization of changing reality.
Confusion dulling the perception of truth.
I, questioning the truth of perception.
And how am I to know?
And here I lay disenchanted.
Finding success,
feeling as though
I've reached the wrong goals.
Resting sleeplessly,
uncomfortably secure.
Will not my body follow
my drifting mind?
