Sonnet #1 (Blame)
Although thee states I am mot blamed,
The mouth belies the thoughts of mind,
Revealing those of a heart in flames.
Accusations escape their hot and dark confines.
Your words bear hidden meanings,
Smuggling their forbidden themes,
Thick with unfair hints and implication.
Selfish expressions of love's greed.
Groundless charges based on emotion.
Sharp and cold, wags the tongue, in scorn.
Suckling child reluctantly weaned.
Innocent, trusting, the young thus are born.
I beseech thee, leave this bitterness behind.
My love, remember, our friendship, restore.
