Scene 2 "The Fall" A boy was on a roof nearby. I saw him rolling down the roof, then he falls off the end. The sight was somehow a little amusing at first, but right away I realized he could be hurt. Immediately upon landing, he jumped up to his feet so fast it was almost as though he had bounced up and no sooner on his feet then he ran to the street. I found him lying next to the curb. I run to him and ask him if he's hurt. He said, "I think I busted my shoulder.". His right arm was a little under his body. I take it out, carefully. He shows no sign of pain. I look at his arm. There is a distinct break of the upper arm bone, just under the shoulder. The flesh has a severely deflated appearance in the area. The arm appears slightly twisted from there down and the forearm is missing a large area of flesh down to the bones [See Sketch.] I told him, "Yea, it's busted.". I call to people nearby and ask them to call for an ambulance. I was then going to run to my car for my first-Aid kit but I couldn't! I was afraid to leave the boy's side. We talk while waiting. {I ask him how he fell, remembering that I am on my way to another roof (and of course, don't want the same thing to happen to me). He said he didn't want to talk about falling. I understood and "dropped the subject".} We wait a long time. I get the feeling that no ambulance has been called. The boy has stood up by now and still shows no sign of pain. I called to other people to get an ambulance. A lady asks "A real ambulance?". I assured her I had a very real immediate need for a very real ambulance. I saw some men (Firemen (or men resembling Firemen but with a very different title)) going into a building. One was the boy's father (I was told). They knew about the boy but seem to have dismissed the incident as of no importance. I called them -by title- but they did not respond. [Future Note: this drawing bears a striking resemblance to the break I received from my fall (from a roof) in 1994. When I saw my broken wrist, in 1994, I thought "Yea, it's broken.".]
